Assemblage -Assemblage is an artistic process in which a three-dimensional artistic composition is made from putting together found objects.
Beadwork - Beadwork is the art or craft of attaching beads to one another or to cloth.
Chip carving - Chip carving or chip-carving, kerbschnitt in German, is a style of carving in which knives or chisels are used to remove small chips of the material from a flat surface in a single piece.

Knitting - Knitting is a method by which thread or yarn may be turned into cloth or other fine crafts.

Mosaic - Mosaic is the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials.
Needlework - Needlework is a broad term for the handicrafts of decorative sewing and textile arts.
Pottery and Ceramics - Pottery is the ceramic ware made by potters.[1] The place where such wares are made is also called a pottery (plural potteries).
Pressed flower craft - Pressed flower craft consists of drying flower petals and leaves in a flower press to flatten and exclude light and moisture.
Puppetry - Puppetry is a form of theatre or performance which involves the manipulation of puppets.

The handicraft sector plays a significant role in the development of the economy of the country. It's the social life of Ethiopians. These includes preserving cultural inheritance, employment generation, transformation of local raw materials into useful goods and supplies to meet the needs of both rural and urban communities, income generation and linkage with other sectors.

Hand Tools Classification
On the basis of the various purposes served, hand tools can be classified into four different sections:
Cutting, Pinching, Gripping Tools: As the name suggests, these tools are used for cutting, pinching and gripping purposes. Cutting tools are used not only to cut a physical object into pieces but also used to remove metal or wood from the workpiece by means of sheer deformation. Hand tools are also used for gripping objects by using leverage. For example: Pliers, Cutters, Snips

Striking Tools: The striking tools are the most widely used tools and they are also considered to be the the most often abused tool. Chiseling, punching and riveting can be done properly using striking tools. Hand-held striking tools have been used in a variety of disciplines as leveraged devices providing a striking force to complete endless variety of tasks. For example: Hammers, Chisels

Driving Tools: Driving hand tools are those tools which are designed in a such a way so that insertion, tightening, loosening, removing screws, bolts, nails or other pointed objects or hard to turn items is done by applying torque. These tools have mechanical advantage in applying torque. For example: Screwdrivers, Nut drivers, Hand wrenches, T-handle wrenches

Struck or Hammered Tools: Struck or hammered tools are tools used for forcing a bolt, pin, or rivet in or out of a hole. For example: Punches, Nail sets, Chisels

Common safety practices when using handicrafts:
1. Use gloves when doing handicrafts.
2. Do not rush your work.
3. Focus on what you are making handicrafts
4. Wear safety glasses.
5. Put all materials in proper places.
6. Install a fire extinguisher within the working area.
7. Always keep the work area clean and organized.
8. Avoid scattering your tools in the working area.
9. avoid using any harful materials in the area.
10. use precausionary signs in the area.
